This is an update from John Sansone, a patient at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Phoenix. Please do not adjust your monitor’s contrast, or the volume on your smart phone, this is only an update. : )
Well, I met with my lung doctor, Dr. Turner, today. He showed me the images from my latest CT scan and gave me some new information. While many of the tumors in my lungs have shrunk or disappeared, there is still on tumor around my right bronchi that is growing. I have been coughing badly the past two weeks, and have regularly coughed up some blood clots. This tumor is causing my wheezing and coughing. Dr. Turner wants to do another rigid bronchoscopy to attempt to remove or reduce the size of this tumor. He would like to get this done this week or early next week. He is waiting for a particular anesthesiologist to assist him. I am feeling a bit anxious since the last time I had this procedure done, I was in ICU for several days afterwards. I continue to ask for your prayers of support and healing as I prepare for this newest procedure.
On a side note, the center looks very festive right now. They have put up the Christmas tree in the lobby, the outside lights display a red and green light show at night, and I will be going to the Phoenix Zoo tonight for a special Cancer Fighters event. Christmas in the desert.
